Be My Eyes, a mobile app designed to provide assistance to visually impaired people, has announced the first digital virtual assistant powered by OpenAI. Users can send images through the app to an AI-powered Virtual Volunteer in order to receive instant assistance for a variety of tasks. The feature aims to better support the blind and low-vision community, while also offering a new way for businesses to better prioritize accessibility.
Google Opens Early Access to Bard, its AI Chatbot

Google has just announced the release of its ChatGPT competitor, dubbed Bard. Bard, still in its early stages, allows users to collaborate with generative AI. The company is starting with a limited public rollout, and users in both the U.K. and the U.S. can join a waitlist via the Bard webpage. Like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Microsoft’s Bing chatbot, Bard is based on a large language model and is able to respond and interact with its users.
Italian Electric Motorcycle Maker to Integrate its Tech into Aviation

Italian electric motorcycle manufacturer Engica is working to integrate its EV technology package into both airplanes and seaplanes. The company has partnered with two aviation companies, Phenix Air Corp. and Pure Flight, to evaluate the performances and to conduct tests. This move is part of the company’s “Energica Inside” program, which uses the company’s powertrain solutions to assist and benefit other manufacturers of light EVs.
Microsoft Brings DALL-E’s AI Image Generation to Bing and Edge

Microsoft announced a new aspect to build upon Bing AI chat. The company now has a Bing Image Creator preview, which adds OpenAI’s DALL-E AI image generation tool to both the user’s Bing search and the sidebar in their Edge browser. NVIDIA and Medtronic are Building an AI-Enhanced Endoscopy Tool

The two companies are building AI into the GI Genius endoscopy tool and leveraging NVIDIA’s IGX hardware, along with Holoscan’s medical platform. The combination will provide doctors with AI-enhanced diagnostic images. It is expected to arrive later this year, helping detect the polyps that can lead to colorectal cancer.
